Board of Supervisors

Longswamp Township is a Township of the second class governed by a Board of Supervisors who are elected at large by the registered voters of the Township. The Supervisors, elected for terms of six years, serve both legislative and executive functions. Their powers and responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a Planning Commission
  • Care of roads and bridges by Public Services
  • Maintaining a Municipal Authority
  • Enacting ordinances for building, zoning, and the health, safety and welfare of the residents, enforced by the Code Officer
The Board of Supervisors meets on the Second and Fourth Tuesday of every month to hold a public business meeting to discuss all Township matters. Meetings start promptly at 7:00 PM and are located at the Township building, 1112 State Street, Mertztown, PA 19539. 

The members of the Board of Supervisors are:

  • Donald Hickman, Chairman 
  • Mark Hilbert, Vice Chairperson 
  • Mike Sacks, Supervisor
