The Longswamp Township Board of Supervisors recently passed the Public Gatherings and Special Events Ordinance into law.

This Ordinance states that any pavilion rental, special event or public gathering which will exceed 251 people will be required to apply for a Special Event permit. This application will go to the Board of Supervisors for review. 

Events like weddings, bike events, parties, concerts and other special events and public gatherings all fall under the Special Event permit. Events involving the closing of a public street, any use of a public street requiring temporary “no parking” or directional signs or pavement markings, or temporary traffic control on a public right of way also require a Public Gathering & Special Event permit. 
Please note if your special event will be held at one of our township parks, you will need to complete and submit a Pavilion Rental Agreement and a Special Event Permit Application.
